As per new Canadian Coast Guard requirements, since September 15, 2002, any person operating a powered vessel under 4 meters in length now requires a Pleasure Craft Operator's Card. This includes Personal Water Craft (PWC). In addition to this, all operators of any powered vessel who were born after April 1, 1983 also require the card. This must be carried with you at all times when operating the vessel in question. After September 15, 2009, all operators of power driven pleasure craft of any size will require the card. These requirements are part of regulations implemented in 1999 under the Canada Shipping Act.

The easiest way to pass the exam is through TikiTours P.C.O.C. course. it is available on it's own, and is also included in the price of our CYA Basic Cruising Skipper Course.  Upon successful completion of the exam you will receive the card by mail from the CYA. This is a fun way to learn these safety-oriented topics.
